What type of  loft extension do you require?

VELUX roof windows can be coupled together side by side and / or one above the other to provide additional light and create an attractive effect.
As a general rule, you need to provide glazed areas equivalent to 10% of the room's floor area to achieve adequate natural day lighting.
The overall effect is usually improved by increasing this ratio to around 20% and also by several smaller windows rather than one or two large ones.

Hip to Gable
This is an ideal solution for properties with hipped roofs. We will extend the ridge and build up the gable wall to form your loft conversion.

This type of conversion usually provides exceptional floor space as hipped roof properties tend to have a very high ridge, 10 to 15 feet in many cases.

There is more work involved in constructing a dormer conversion and we may require planning permission from your local authority, therefore the cost is slightly higher than a Velux conversion.

The roofs of modern houses are constructed using 'W' shaped truss rafters, commonly known as Truss roofs. Truss rafters are space intensive and often prevent a loft even being used for storage. We will replace the 'W' shaped truss rafters in your loft with steel or timber beams running the length of the loft.
